Ok, so "journey" is a bit dramatic for a blog post about a guy taking a drawing class. But considering I'm a designer and a lot of what we do involves visualizing our ideas and conveying them to other people, It's kind of a big deal.
Here's a little bit of back story. I just graduated from Montclair State University in NJ with a Bachelors of Fine Art in Industrial Design. Contrary to popular belief I.D. is not the art of designing factories. Don't ask me why some many people think that, I honestly do not know. It is, however, the practice of designing consumer goods which can range anywhere from sneakers to sub-machine guns... Really! (awesome, i know) Odds are, if it's not Architecture or Fashion, an industrial designer aided in some part of its development.
ANYWAY, i learned a lot at MSU and excelled at a bunch of aspects in ID but drawing wasn't one of them. So a few weeks ago a Buddy of mine who graduated a semester before I did told me about a continuing ed class for I.D. drawing at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn NY. I kind of wanted to study there since i was younger but couldn't really afford it. So this was ideal. Study at Pratt and Get better at drawing, SWEEET!
So this blog is dedicated to my progress and the bumps along the way. i'm gonna post pictures of what we've been doing and what we're learning so hopefully you can get something out of it.
This is also my first blog ever, so if anyone actually did read this, i probably should apologize hahaha
